Lake St Peter Provincial Park

Nice site - We had our own lakefront access but it was a teeny tiny campsite. I don't think the site should be considered 'premium' because it was JUST big enough for car, tent, picnic table and breathing space (for a hobbit sized family).
Also, it was right by the road.... more like roadside camping not lakeside! However any site on the lake is considered premium= premium price. The water was murky and it was pebbles and rocks - no beach. Tried fishing but no bites all weekend. Our bate melted into mush worm puss because we left them out in the sun too long (note: put worms in cooler ALWAYS). The worms were representative of our trip because it was so hot and humid and half of us were sick with a stomach bug...
It was a l o n g drive (4.5 hrs but felt like 6), however I would rather be sick whilst camping than sick in the city- at least AFTER you get the tent up and dinner made and as long as you recouperate and feel better BEFORE you have to pack everything back up and go home. Ughhhh I'm trying here but what can I say ...let's just call this a 1/5 trip. I'm glad I saw Lake Saint Peter and all its beautiful cottages (we rented a canoe and went around the lake). By the way; one day canoe rental SHOULD be 24 hrs NOT 8hrs .... Oh well we were too weak to paddle much more anyway. It was paddle to our campsite- rest- paddle back.
A nice little lake with approx 68 campsites (I believe all are quite small), the first Ontario provincial park we have gone to that didn't have it's own lil' camping/ summer newspaper but it did have a brochure.
Considering the long-ish drive and tiny campsites, average lake-I wouldn't go back unless I lived in Bancroft or somewhere closer.
