A short drive from Toronto (2hrs), we recently discovered Long Point Provincial Park.(along the north shore of Lake Erie). Sand camping; There's something about walking around the campsite with soft sand between your toes!

Presqu'ile
Presqu'ile is on the north shore of Lake Ontario, near the town of Brighton.
The name of the park is the French word for peninsula, or literally "almost island". The park area was formed when a limestone island was connected to the mainland by a sand spit; this kind of formation is referred to as a tombolo. Presqu'ile is known for its migrating birds and Monarch butterflies. We have also spotted White Tailed Deer!

Lake St Peter Provincial Park
Nice site - We had our own lakefront access but it was a teeny tiny campsite. I don't think the site should be considered 'premium' because it was JUST big enough for car, tent, picnic table and breathing space (for a hobbit sized family).
